It all started in 1974, when our father, Spiridon Margaris, learned the traditional technique for producing Greek pita for souvlaki in Athens.
50 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Today, after 50 years of experience, the new generation of Margaris continues the family tradition with the production of Greek pita for souvlaki and other baked goods, through the business MARGARIS Bakery Products, in Zakynthos.
We are active in both wholesale (HORECA businesses, supermarkets) and retail sales (from our store). With steady progress, we are continuously expanding our product range, increasing our production and sales, as well as our distribution points throughout Greece.
At MARGARIS Bakery Products, our model is healthy eating and respect for our fellow human beings. That’s why all our products contain no preservatives or other chemical additives that alter the taste and nutritional
value.
Additionally, for the production of our foods, we apply HACCP principles and Food Safety and Quality Management Systems according to the International Standards ISO 9001 & ISO 22000.
Our philosophy is simple and meaningful, just as it was inspired in all of us 50 years ago by our father, Spyridon Margaris:

It all started in 1974 when our father, Spyridon Margaris, learned the traditional technique of producing Greek pita bread for souvlaki in Athens.
The family business started as a small workshop in Lefkada, serving only Western Greece with the production of pita bread for souvlaki.
The new generation of the Margaris family actively joins the business, continuing the family tradition of producing Greek pita bread for souvlaki while expanding the product range to include other baked goods such as table bread rolls, toast bread, burger buns, hot dog buns, sandwich bread, ready-made pizzas, and more.
MARGARIS Bakery Products relocates to Zakynthos, and the new brand begins to take shape, marking the introduction of a broader product line.
The Margaris Handmade Table Bread Roll receives a double award—on a global level—the “Superior Taste Award” from the International Taste Institute and its specialized team of world-renowned chefs and sommeliers. This prestigious award is granted to foods of exceptional quality.
The quality of Margaris products and the company’s consistency lead to an increase in sales and, consequently, the expansion of production. As a result, a new production facility is established in Lukoudi, Zakynthos, and the company undergoes a rebranding to MARGARIS Bakery Products, aiming to build a strong brand identity synonymous with “delicious and healthy nutrition.”
